The Greatest Gift (Levi x Reader)

    After years of fighting Titans you had come to the start of the hardest challenge you will ever face. It is true that fighting Titans was hard work but you felt that you had finally met your match. You stared at the brunette as she had that ever present grin on her face. You did not know what to say. You did not know how to react. You just stared at her. Her words kept spinning around in your head as your brain tried to grasp what she had just told you. 

    "(Y/n)? You've been staring at me for the past five minutes! It can't be that surprising it was bound to happen sooner or later." Hanji said chucking as she looked at your gaping face.

    "A-Are you sure?" You asked still trying to process the information told to you. She nodded.

    "Yes! I am positive! When am I ever wrong?" You raised an eyebrow at her making her roll her brown eyes at you. "Alright. I may mess up on several things but I am certain about this! Believe me when I say you're pregnant!" 

    "Okay you see that's where you keep losing me." You said rubbing your temples. 

    "Oh come on now stop being all surprised. Like I said it was bound to happen with all the noises we hear coming from yours and Shorty's bedroom at night." You faced flushed scarlet.

    "Hanji!"

    "Well it's true! Just be happy! You're going to be a mom! We are finally going to see Levi babies!" Hanji said jumping excitement at the thought of little midgets running around HQ. You thought. It was true that was a happy thought. You and Levi were married for two years now and Hanji was right after all the activities the two of you did it was bound to happen. You were just worried but hearing Hanji all excited made you start to liven up.

    "I'm pregnant." You said a smile making it's way to your face. "Hanji I'm pregnant!" You said jumping up in excitement. She squealed happily with you before the both of you hugged.

    "You should tell Shorty right away!"

    "Tell me what?" A familiar voice asked. Speak of the devil. The two of you turned around and saw Levi enter the room his arms crossed. 

    "Well that is my cue to leave! I'm so happy for you Shorty!" Hanji said hugging the Captain making him growl in annoyance.

    "Get the hell off of me Shitty Glasses!" He said prying the mad scientist off of him. You giggled. Hanji smiled at you once more before leaving. "What the hell is her problem?" He asked as the door closed. 

    "Levi we need to talk. There's something important I need to tell you." You said holding his hands in your soft ones.

    "About what?" He asked his voice guarded. He didn't like what you had said. Nothing good can come from 'we need to talk'. Seeing his slight worry you reassured him.

    "It's nothing bad I promise. Well I guess it depends on how you react but..." You bit your lip as worry coursed through you. You were happy that much you knew but... but what if Levi did not want the baby? What if he got mad? Would he leave you? 

    "(Y/n) what is it? What's wrong?" He asked stroking your cheek lovingly seeing your nervous figure. You took a breath. Well might as well get it over with and hope for the best.

    "Levi. I'm pregnant." He froze. He was not expecting that.

    "W-What?" He stuttered.  

    "I'm pregnant." You repeated once more. Levi just stared at you. Now it was his turn to be speechless. 

    "Y-You're pregnant?" You nodded. He stayed silent. He didn't say a word. The great Levi Ackerman was at a loss of words. 

    "L-Levi?" Nothing. This worried you. Were you right? Did he not want the baby? Was he upset? With these thoughts in mind tears formed in your eyes. Levi saw this and his eyes widen. 

    "No (Y/n) don't cry."

    "You don't want to have this baby do you?" You sobbed putting your face in your hands.

    "I never said that brat. I was just surprised. Of course I want this baby." Levi said hugging you in his embrace. 

    "R-Really?" You hiccuped wiping your tears away. Levi smiled that smile he showed only to you making your heart flutter. He nodded.

    "Why wouldn't I be? The woman I love is carrying my child. Why wouldn't I be happy?" 

    "Oh Levi!" You said throwing your arms around him. He too wrapped his arms around your waist. He kissed you sweetly making you kiss him back. 

    "I'm going to be a father." He said once the two of you parted. You nodded happily. Levi thought about that for a second. "I'm going to be a father." He froze and his face paled. 

    "Levi?" You asked. Before you could say anything else there was a thud. Well that was unexpected. "Hanji!" You called. "Levi passed out!"

    Levi woke up to the next morning to the sound of gagging. He sat up in bed and saw you were not beside him in bed. He saw the bathroom room door open and he quickly jumped out of bed and rushed toward the bathroom. There he saw you bent over the toilet emptying out your stomach. He went over to you and held up your hair and rubbed your back in a comforting manner. Once you were done he helped you up. You brushed your teeth before he led you back to bed. 

    "Sorry for waking you up." You said making him shake his head at you.

    "You don't have to apologize brat it's not your fault." He rubbed your belly before bending down so his face was directly in front of it. "Now listen here brat. Your mother needs to rest to make sure you come out strong and healthy. You have to stop giving her trouble alright?" You chuckled at seeing him talking to your unborn child. As he kept talking to your child you played around with his dark locks. Ever since you told him you were pregnant and after waking up from fainting he went straight to Erwin and told him you were to not to go on any expeditions until further notice. Erwin understood and congratulated you along with the other members of the Survey Corps. Now more than ever did Levi want to fight to end the reign of the titans. He needed to destroy them so that your child could grow up in a world where there will be nothing to fear. He was going to fight. He was was going to fight for you and your child.

    "LEVI!" You yelled. The said man rushed to the bedroom panicked. 

    "What is it?! What's wrong?!" He asked you worriedly as he saw you crying. "What happened?" He asked putting a hand on your six month belly. Ever since you told him you were pregnant he was more protective of you and worried constantly about your heath and your unborn child. You kept sobbing making the man worry even more. "(Y/n) what's wrong? Do I need to call shitty glasses?" You shook your head from side to side.

    "No." You sobbed.

    "(Y/n) you're scaring me what's wrong?"

    "I'm fat!" You sobbed. At hearing nothing was wrong with you or the baby Levi sighed in relief.

    "You're fat. That's good." He said but he realized his mistake to late as he felt you glaring daggers at him.

    "You think I'm fat! What kind of husband are you?!" You exclaimed hitting him in the chest. Damn when did you get so strong?! "You don't love me!" You cried putting your face in your face.

    "(Y/n) don't cry. I didn't mean it." He said trying to comfort you. He thought fighting titans was bad enough but ever since your hormones started acting up he really had to watch what he would say or else who knew what you would do. Nothing scared him more right now than his pregnant wife. You would cry, yell, and laugh at random moments and he had such a hard time knowing what to do. "You know I love you don't you?" You sniffed.

    "You do?" You asked. He nodded wiping your tears away. "Aw you're so sweet I love you too!" You said happily wrapping your arms around him. He sighed relieved as he hugged you back. However his relief was short lived for you started crying once more.

    "What's wrong now?" He asked. 

    "I yelled at you and hit you!" You cried. 

    "It's alright (Y/n) I forgive you." Instead of receiving a smile from you you sobbed some more. "What did I say now?" 

    "You're so sweet Levi and all I'm doing is crying and yelling. I don't deserve you!" You said putting your head on his chest making him rub your back soothingly.

    "Of course you do. You are sweet, caring, brave, smart, and not to mention beautiful. You are the greatest person in the world." Your sobs became louder making him sigh. "Was it something I said again?" You muttered something under your breath. "What was that?" 

    "I said our child is going to be a midget because you're so short Levi!" Levi sighed and rubbed his temples trying to calm down.

    "Three more months Levi. Three more months."

    "Just promise you'll be careful." You told Levi. Everyone was about to set off on another expedition and were making final adjustments before heading off. 

    "I will. You take care of yourself also don't strain yourself to much." He said putting a hand on your nine months old belly. "I'll be back as soon as I can." You chuckled.

    "I'll be fine. Hanji's staying so I'll be fine with her." You told him.

    "Like I said I'll be back as soon as possible." He said not trusting the mad scientist. You rolled your eyes before he kissed you sweetly. He kissed your belly as well. "Wait until I come back you got that brat? Don't you pop out while I'm gone." You giggled before Levi kissed your forehead and mounted his horse. He sent you a small smile before he and Erwin started leading the way. When they were gone Hanji appeared beside you and wrapped her arm around your shoulder. 

    "Don't worry (Y/n) I'm positive Shorty is going to be just fine!" She told you at seeing your worried figure. You sighed.

    "I know but I can't help but worry." 

    "I know! Let's go get some cookies from the kitchen before heading back to your room so you can rest." Your ears perked up at the mention of food and nodded. She laughed before leading you back to HQ. After eating three batches of cookies you sat in your bed reading your favorite book. You have had more free time on your hands since you had gotten pregnant and have gone through a dozen or more books in the past nine months. Just as you were about to start a new book you felt a sharp pain in your lower abdomen. You cringed in pain. 

    "Oh God not now." You cried as you felt another pain. "Didn't your father tell you to wait until he got back?" You asked your soon to be born child. "Can't you wait a few more hours?" You let out a small yell as you felt another pain. "Or not. You want out you want out I get it. Ah! Hanji!" You yelled calling for the brunette. A minute later said person appeared.

    "(Y/n)! Oh don't tell me it's what I think it is." She said rushing to your side seeing your face scrunched up in pain.

    "Yep. Little Ackerman wants out." You said as she helped you up.

    "Okay okay don't panic it's going to be alright. Everything will be fine. Stay clam. Just don't panic!"

    "I am not panicking!" You exclaimed.

    "Okay no need to yell. Uh okay we need a doctor. Wait no we need Levi. Wait no we need both."

    "How about you get me to the infirmary before getting Levi?"

    "That works too." Hanji said before she quickly brought you over to the infirmary. Once you were settled and the nurse took over the brunette left and quickly rushed to find the black haired man. It was getting rather late and they should be on the way back. And she thanked the walls she was right when she saw the gates opening and members of the Survey Corps piled inside. "Shorty!" Hanji exclaimed once she spotted the short man.

    "Shitty glasses you should be with (Y/n) what the hell are you doing here?" Seeing the brunette panting.

    "(Y/n)... infirmary... labor... now...GO!" His gray eyes widen before he rushed his horse toward HQ at full speed. When he arrived he jumped off his horse before rushing inside the building running toward the infirmary. As he got closer he heard your yells and your foul language at play. He opened the door and you scoffed.

    "It's about damn time you showed up!" You yelled as he went to your side. He held your hand and placed a gentle kiss on it.

    "I'm sorry but I'm here now." He told you.

    "Mrs. Ackerman you have to start pushing now." The doctor said as he walked into the room taking a seat between your legs.

    "Who the fuck are you?" Levi asked him as he saw the doctor put on gloves.

    "I'm here to help deliver your child Mr. Ackerman."

    "You are insane if you think I am letting you see any inch of my wife much less her lower regions."

    "Do we really have to do this now?!" You exclaimed.

    "Mr. Ackerman I understand how you feel but..."

    "But nothing you are not going to see any part of my wife. Now leave."

    "But sir... your child..."" The doctor stopped and gulped at seeing Levi's steel gray eyes glaring at him. 

    "I'll deliver my child." Levi said removing the doctor from the chair before sitting down himself. The doctor was about to protest but was met with another glare and that was enough to send him running out of the room.

    "Do you even know how to deliver a child?!" You asked seeing your husband put on surgical gloves.

    "I've been reading books." Levi said making your eyes soften. 

    "You have?" What a sweet and caring husband you had. Another contraction hit you making you groan. "Then hurry the hell up and deliver our child already!" 

    "Okay (Y/n) I need you start pushing on three. Ready? One. Two. Three." You let out a yell as you pushed with all your might. 

    "Damn it Levi! This is all your fault do you know that?! You with your handsome face and UGH! Why the hell are you so damn attractive?! I hate you!"

    "I love you too now push." Levi told concentrating on the task at hand. You did what was told and after a couple more minutes of pushing and yelling a small cry was heard and you saw a smile grace Levi's lips as he held your newborn child in his hands. "(Y/n) you did it." He told you looking at you. "You gave life to a baby boy." You smiled and let out a happy sigh.

    "Let me see him." You said. Levi cut the umbilical cord and cleaned your son up before wrapping him in a blanket that was nearby. He then walked over to you and gently placed him in your awaiting arms. You looked at your son in awe as Levi wrapped his arm around you. 

    "He's so... god I can't explain it... he's perfect." You said a tears ran down your face.

    "You did amazing (Y/n). I'm really proud of you." Levi said kissing your hair. You smiled and continued to look down at your little miracle. "He has your eyes." Levi said seeing your sons small (e/c) eyes. 

    "He has your hair." You added seeing the small strands of black hair on his small head. Your son wrapped his tiny hand around your finger and both you and Levi watched the scene in amazement. 

    "Thank you (Y/n)." You looked up at Levi confused.

    "For what?" You asked.

    "For giving me the gift of being a father." You leaned your head against his chest and smiled.

    "It was a combined effort." He smiled before a nurse walked into the room. 

    "Mr and Mrs Ackerman we need to get your child cleaned up and dressed." She said. You and Levi looked at each other and nodded. She walked over and gently picked up your son before leaving. 

    "You rest (Y/n) I'm going to make sure she doesn't kidnap our son." You laughed.

    "Don't you think you're being a little to over protective? You already scared the poor doctor making him run for his life."

     "When it comes to you and our son I can never be to careful. Now rest." He told you kissing your forehead. You smiled once more before falling asleep your smile never leaving your face.

    "Aw he is just so adorable!" Hanji said happily as she saw you holding your son in your arms. "We finally have a baby Levi!" She said jumping around the room happily. 

    "Congratulations you two." Erwin told you and Levi a small smile on his face. You smiled back. 

    "Thank you Erwin." You saw him eyeing your son making you chuckle. "You want to hold him?" 

    "I don't think that's a good idea."

    "Come on you'll be fine." You said motioning for him to come closer. He hesitantly walked over and you placed your son in his arms instructing him on how to hold him.

    "If you crush my son you die." Levi told him making Erwin roll his eyes. He looked down at the baby in his arms and smiled. 

    "It's good to be reminded that there is good in this world as well." He said.

    "I want to hold him! I want to hold him! Let me hold him!" Hanji exclaimed holding out her arms. At this Levi took your son from Erwin's arms and held him protectively. 

    "You are not holding him shitty glasses. You will most likely throw him out the window with all your jumping around." Levi said making the scientist start whining. 

    "Levi watch your language." You scolded at hearing his nick name for Hanij. 

    "Says the person who was shouting foul language a while ago." Levi told you chuckling making you pout. 

    "So what is your sons name?" Erwin asked. You and Levi looked at each other before answering.

    "(S/n)." You both said. "(S/n) Ackerman."

    Some time later members of the 104th trainee squad visited you and everyone was at awe at seeing little (S/n). They all congratulated you and Levi and they took turns carrying him. Levi promised to kill them if they were to drop his son. 

    "He is going to be exactly like the captain." Eren said smiling at seeing Krista holding your son. He and Jean decided not to carry (S/n) at the fear of dropping him seeing they were not good with kids. 

    "Yea he is." Jean said sighing happily at seeing how adorable your son was. They watched a moment longer before they froze their smiles vanishing in an instant as realization set in. They both looked at each other panicked before looking at (S/n) and back at each other before looking at your son again as he was placed back in your arms. 

    "He has the glint in his eyes!" Eren whispered to Jean.

    "I can see double chores already!" Jean cried. 

    "We have to get on (S/n)'s good side or else we really will get double chores!" Your son made eye contact with them and the two froze as they felt cold sweat run down their spines. Your son smiled and reached a hand toward them. Eren and Jean let out a yell before running out of the room in a panic. 

    "What's their problem?" Levi asked making you shrug. He rolled his eyes before sitting on the bed beside you as the rest of the cadets excused themselves before leaving the room. (S/n) reached toward Levi and you placed him in your husbands arms. "You know I never thought I would be a father with the things we go through on a daily bases." Levi said referring to the titans and expeditions. 

    "I never thought I would be a mother but here we are." You said stroking your sons soft cheek. 

    "I love you (Y/n)."

    "I love you too Levi." You said before the two of you kissed sweetly. (S/n) made a sound and the two of you chuckled and looked down at him. 

    "We love you too (S/n)." The two of you said kissing either side of his cheeks. After nine months you had finally given birth to the greatest gift of all and knew that the journey was just beginning. It was bound be hard but you and Levi would be there to help each other out. Speaking of helping out, Eren and Jean ended up helping you and Levi a lot when it came to (S/n). You didn't know why but it seemed as if they were almost terrified of him. How strange.
